I left an equally ardent fan of the Chicago Chamber Choir, under the elegant hand of director Christopher Windle. It’s rare to hear a volunteer chorus who dotes upon matters of tone and ensemble, and this performance outclassed some professional choirs in the city. They’re idiomatically flexible, too, roving from stylish Tallis and Bach to a “Precious Lord” of big-hearted abandon.
